Item Details

A long 19th-century French bench with characteristic wooden turned front legs and simple straight back legs, reflecting the balance of craftsmanship and utility typical of provincial furniture of the period. The piece has a later black-painted finish on the legs and has been reupholstered in a vintage woven hemp cloth with a soft black-and-natural stripe.  Elegant in its simplicity and generous in scale, it is particularly well suited to a hallway or entrance space.
