Item Details

A 20th-century vernacular oak table from the Carpathian Mountains region, with a substantial single-plank top supported on four splayed stick legs.  The thickness of the oak suggests the reuse of an earlier piece of timber, with a mellow, time-worn surface and a rich, natural patina. The top has developed a gentle warp both along and across the grain, giving it a slightly undulating surface without compromising its practical use.
