Item Details

A wonderfully individual French artisan-made stool or occasional table, dating from the 1960s–70s. Three naturally twisted branch legs support a slab top with its original bark edge.

The natural bends and irregularities of the wood have been embraced rather than worked away, giving the piece its sculptural character. Richly patinated and tactile, it has the rustic simplicity associated with French folk furniture and the organic Brutalist style of the period.

A charming and unique piece, equally suited as a stool, side table or sculptural object.
