https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/soap-and-salvationA large-scale original charcoal on paper work by Trevor Bell (1930–2017), signed, titled Head and dated 1956.
A strong figurative study in which Bell reduces the head and face to a series of sweeping lines and geometric forms, moving confidently between portraiture and abstraction. The paper has mellowed and discoloured with age, retaining the honest surface and character of an original studio work from the period.
Created during Bell’s formative years in St Ives. He moved there in 1955 and became a member of the Penwith Society in 1956, before going on to establish an international reputation as an abstract painter.
Presented professionally glazed in a hand-painted and waxed wooden frame.
