David Fischel founded DG Fischel & Son, started his business in former Czechoslovakia in the 1870s when many of the original Thonet patents expired. Therefore, one finds many of the famous Thonet models also being produced by Fischel.

His son has actually worked for Thonet and by 1913 the company had expanded to work in Vienna too.

Fischel was a competitor to both the Thonet and Kohn brands and was alongside those two giants one of the most important bentwood factories in central Europe from the late 19th century.
Made by bending wood from one continuous rod, Bentwood style furniture is lightweight and super durable making it the perfect collectors piece great for everyday use.
