Impressive Italian Walnut Desk or Console This finely constructed desk, dating to the early 19th Century, exemplifies the restrain elegance of Italian craftsmanship of the period. Executed in walnut the moulded rectangular top is supported by a frieze incorporating two useful drawers. The desk rests upon sculpturally carved trestle legs joined by a shapely stretcher, lending structural integrity and visual harmony. The walnut, as expected, has developed a warm patination consistent with its age and use. Two Drawers. Excellent patina. Walnut. Italy Circa 1820.
