A large oil on canvas depicting an abstracted waterfront scene, inscribed “Claudine Henriot · Venise” on the stretcher verso and attributed to the named artist. Broad passages of blue dominate the composition, offset by warm terracotta, ochre yellow and pale grey. Strong dark verticals and intersecting lines suggest masts, poles and waterside structures, while angular forms across the foreground evoke moored boats. To the left, a distant architectural silhouette provides a quieter counterpoint to the bold geometry. The scene is conveyed through colour and rhythm, with recognisable elements emerging from an arrangement of interlocking planes. Open areas of blue lend the painting a sense of space, balanced by the denser forms below and the framework of dark lines rising through the right side. Visible brushwork and irregular edges give movement to the otherwise structured composition. The painting has a substantial presence. Its combination of cool blues and earthy orange tones offers both richness and restraint, complemented by a narrow dark frame.
