https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/the-home-bothyAn elegant mid-century floor lamp, probably French, dating to circa 1950-1960. Three slender black-painted metal stems rise to staggered heights, each supporting an original white opaline glass shade on a brass-toned circular mount. The softly rounded shades provide a gentle, diffused light, contrasting with the precise lines of the open metal frame. The stems converge above a splayed tripod base, with brass-toned ball feet adding a restrained decorative detail. A circular brace connects the uprights, giving the design both structure and a distinctive silhouette. Combining sculptural form with a relatively light visual presence, this three-light floor lamp would sit comfortably beside an armchair, illuminate a quiet corner or complement an arrangement of antique and modern furniture. Its black, white and brass-toned palette works equally well in contemporary interiors and rooms furnished with mid-century pieces. A characterful example of European mid-century lighting, retaining its original glass shades. Maker unidentified. Some minor paint loss and blemishes to the body of the lamp, shades have some minor abrasions on the extremities. Rewired in antique style flex and PAT tested to UK standard. B22 lampholders. France, Circa 1960.
