Early 20th Century Hand Carved Cigar Casket
We share what we love, and we love the amount of detail that has gone into creating this amazing cigar box. Covered in some wonderfully intricate carved scenes. Including animals such as wild birds, deer, pigs, fantasy looking beasts and monkeys, hunts man with guns, speers, bow and arrows, covered in plants and trees. Each section of this casket tells a story of sorts. The inside also has two carved scenes. This item comes with working lock and key, on the reverse a small, stamped label states “Made by G. Nemede of Kashmir” A true work of art in our humble opinion.
Dimensions in inches: H 4.5 x D 7 x W 11
Circa: 1910 - 1920
Completely solid in structure and form, aged surface as shown with a deep natural patina across all areas. Worn surface gives a faded look in sections especially on the raised carved sections as shown. This item has been protected using a natural bees wax only.
