Early 20th Century hand carved papier mache jockey
An unusual English folk-art early 20th Century papier mache figure, of a winning jockey. Standing proud with chest puffed out and whip in hand. This figure stands firmly on a textured fake grass top plinth. Original paint still intact if a bit faded and cracked in sections, revealing some old newspaper. A charismatic, charming and fun figure.
Size in inches approx.: H 12” x W 5” x D 5”
Period: Early 20th Century

Completely solid in structure and form, naturally faded across all its surfaces, flacked paint, aged repairs and dulling of colour. The paint has crackled in areas revealing the old paper underneath. It is exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas on this piece. Therefore, we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections / condition is unclear to avoid disappointment when purchasing.
