A fine oil on canvas depicting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel peeking from his kennel, very much in the manner of Landseer.
Age related craquelure to the painted surface, some minor losses and what appears to be a patch repair on the reverse with 1915 probably the year it was done. We believe the painting pre dates the repair by some way.
The canvas is strong and taught over its original lap jointed frame, the paint is well adhered to the canvas not flaky.
