A very large and late 19th century sorceress mirror housed in a deeply carved frame with its original ebonised finish. A continuous decorative border of reverse ground convex optics, with a large central reverse cut star
Some minor pitting/foxing to the mirror plate, and age related craquelure to the ebonised finish.


Sorcerer mirrors were an early 16th century creation, used to throw light around via the convex optics thus giving them purported magical powers, hence the name.
