Rare pair of funerary sculptures of a male and female likely husband and wife, carved in marble and housed in substantial cherry wood frames with ebonised slips.

Each portrait has a hinged bronze mask with glass eyes that covers the expression of death.

The portraits also retain some of there original polychrome decoration with age related losses and abrasions, each frame has an oversized brass hanging hoop so the sculptures can be hung

Italian in origins, 19th century in age.
