Heavily inscribed with the names of pupils and dates. The front of the fall is inscribed "L Tate [17]71" in Roman script. This is the earliest inscription and may relate to the first owner. Lists of boys in the dormitory are also pasted into the top cupboard. The inscriptions are similar to the famous graffiti in the Upper School at Eton College. Also retrains its original iron key with working lock.
Some signs of long departed wood worm, knocks and abrasions and some wonderful period repairs. Untouched and original
206cm high, 56.5cm wide, 52cm deep
Provenance: John G. Beevor, Prefect of Hall, Winchester College, to whom it was given by the college and then by family descent.
