The larger model is a 19th century model of an early 18th century French war ship the 20inch hull carved from the solid, mounted with turned guns with port lids, decorative carved stern with gallery, indistinctly named, figurehead in the form of a bust length winged female, deck with carved fittings, fitted ship's boats over well deck, gratings, capstans etc., bound masts with standing and running rigging, full suit of stitched linen sails with reefing points and flags as appropriate, laid upon its wooden cradle stand
Approx 76cm in height and width.
The smaller model a 19th century model of a 12 Gun ship the 16inch carved hull with planking and pinning, scored deck with simple carved fittings, metal guns in carriages, fitted boat over grating, bird form figurehead, painted bound masts with standing and running rigging and stitched linen sails with reefing points, loosely mounted on cradle stand approx 75 x 81cm
