A smart American chrome cocktail shaker, Circa 1940s, with orange & black Bakelite handle. This vintage cocktail shaker is in the design of a coffee pot, which became popular during the Prohibition era when drinking with friends became a ‘behind closed doors’ event and barware was made to resemble everyday objects. That way if the Police visited, a host could explain that there was no barware in the house… just an old coffee pot!
