A chic Mid 20th Century French handpainted ceramic hors d'oevre serving dish from Vallauris, France Circa 1950s. This excellent large pottery four section serving dish is perfect to use with drinks before dinner.Vallauris is a small town near Cannes on the Côte d’Azur renowned for its pottery in the Mid 20th Century. The artist Picasso lived and worked in the town from 1948-1955 in order to facilitate his early artistic experimentation with pottery. Seduced by the "town with a hundred potters" it was in his villa nestled on the hills of Vallauris that his creativity was set free.
