An unusual twin action gilded brass lidded inkwell on heavy onyx base, English Circa 1900, with a patented Betjamann & Sons mechanism, this dualaccess - 2 way opening ink reservoir inkstand and pen tray is in superb vintage condition. The removable heavy cut glass inkwell sitsin a square gilded brass kerbed central enclosure. The glass is without chips or cracks and sparkles beautifully. The lid of the inkwell opens in 2 directions allowing access from both sides, so two Directors could use at the same time. The perfect addition to an executive desk.
