Item Description
A Beautiful C19th Continental Repousse Marginal Wall Mirror. The decorative crest with a large central urn over flowing with an abundance of flowers. Below sits the central mirror, surrounded with eight marginal cushion mirrors, each section separated with attractive oak leaf detail. The lower section decorated with a lattice style urn filled with an array of apples, peaches and pineapples. The outer frame stylised with a mixture of beading, small shells and with egg and dart design. The whole sits on a wooden ebonised frame. In good condition with a nice patina and some foxing to the mirror plates which adds to its overall charm. Provenance: From Airlie Gardens, Holland Park The home of Herbert Olivier (1861-1952), Edwardian artist, traveller and uncle to Sir Lawrence Olivier.
