This is a marvellous and extremely rare antique Italian reliquary in the shape of an arm. Dating from the 19th century this remarkable treasure contains a relic of St Lucy [Santa Lucia]. The reliquary is made from bronze with a glass covering the relic and two Papal wax stamps that hold the glass in place. This incredible sacred treasure comes from a private collection in Lucca, a city in Tuscany. It measures about 19.5 x 6 x 5.5 cm or approximately 7.6 x 2.3 x 2.1 inches and it is exactly as I discovered it recently - in lovely antique condition with minor signs of ageing.
