Item Description
A 3 pane antique stained glass window detailed with hand painted heraldic symbols: a Bohun swan, rampant lions and a mythical creature with the tail of a lion, body of a leopard, horns of a gazelle and head of a boar.
Dating from the mid 19th century, this reclaimed stained glass window has stood the test of time for more than 170 years, making a smart feature of traditional country cottages and period townhouses. It features 3 panes of leaded diamond glass in a mixture of clear and subtle green shades within an original timber frame, with blacksmith-made casement, stay and working latch to the central window.
If seeking a pair, we are also selling another 3 panel window in a similar style.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Dimensions stated are for the external frame size, excluding the horns.
CONDITION REPORT
Good structural condition. Glass has been fully restored. One repaired crack to one of the lions. Panel above swan has a series of 4 vertical scratches. Timber frame in good original condition with old paint finish. Frame still fitted with original horns.
