Item Description
A good quality Georgian style scale model of the hull of the HMS Victory, one of Britain’s most famous 18th century Royal Navy ships. Made from stoneware with a bronzed finish, this hull model is brilliantly detailed, showcasing various gunports to the sides, a defined curling stem to the front and stern to the back! It sits on later timber stands for display – the perfect decorative piece for a nautical themed interior or those with an interest in British naval history.
HMS VICTORY
HMS Victory is one of Britain’s most celebrated warships. More than 2000 oak trees were used in construction of the great hull from which this bronzed stoneware sculpture is modelled. Built in 1759 at Chatham Dockyard and launched in 1765, HMS Victory was sailed by Lord Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21st October 1805. Since 1823, it has been a permanent fixture of Portsmouth on the south coast.
