Item Description
A small set of 20 reclaimed Minton encaustic tiles, perfect for use as an antique tile backsplash in a period cottage or Victorian kitchen.
The set comprises of ten 6-inch by 6-inch tiles in the style of Pugin with a repeating scroll pattern with a stylised fruiting vine and black border of florets. These are after an original from the Chapter House, Westminster Abbey. Plus, an addition ten 6-inch by 3-inch tiles in Greek revival style with a repeated geometric design.
Dating from the 19th century, these reclaimed tiles have been in use for over a century and as such have a characterful, timeworn look with scuffs and crazing here and there that only enhances the beauty of these striking patterned tiles.
While we have arranged these antique tiles as pictured, they are not fixed and can be re-arranged in a desired pattern or shape to suit your interior project.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Tile thickness: 1-inch.
Overall dimensions are measurements for tiles as arranged in image.
CONDITION REPORT
