A rare and beautifully preserved Biot jar from the mid 1700s, in remarkable condition for its age. Its most striking feature is the original peinture à la chaux (limewash), which has developed a wonderful crackled patina over time.


Originally used for food storage, the uncoated lower section would have been buried to keep contents cool. It also features a maker’s stamp just below the rim, adding to its authenticity.


A lovely piece of Provençal history, now perfect as a decorative statement in the home or garden.
