Item Details

A period model of a bronze 24 pounder turret cannon, typically employed atop a Martello Tower, (then in iron), this model originally made to demonstrate the potential action on a turntable and track.

This design of cannon attributed to Major General Sir Thomas Blomfield, appointed Inspector of Artillery at the Royal Brass Foundry, Woolwich in 1780.

English circa 1810.

Barrel length 9.75 inches.
