A late 18th/early 19th century cast brass shoe horn, such things identified in the collection of the V & A as dating from the 18th century and probably made in Birmingham.


By the end of the 18th century there were 71 separate foundries established in the town making it the centre of brass manufacturing in Britain producing goods for both the home and colonial markets.


This example approximately 7.25 inches in length.
