Item Details

A carved and gilded eighteenth century French frame dating from the transitional period, circa 1770. The back of the frame is made using oak, the corners constructed with mitres and wedges, retaining the original shaped brass hanger. The upper frame is probably carved for a more responsive close grained wood, such as lime, the corners deeply defined.


A fine and beautiful frame.
