A fabulous painted metal tray; King George III on his favourite charger, Adonis.

The image after the original painting by Sir William Beechey, 'King George III and the Prince of Wales reviewing troops', the present work made popular by a mezzotint engraved by James Ward and published in 1799.

Beechy's painting was painted in 1798 and destroyed in the fire at Windsor Castle in 1992.
