A Victorian, regimental, silver-plated tea-kettle on stand with an integral burner, skillfully made, the body raised; the five-knuckle hinge made flush with the drum's surface.

The lid is lifted by an arrangement of the drum sticks lying over an open book of sheet music and a laurel wreath of victory.

Stamped beneath the lid with the Birmingham makers' mark of Thomas Harwood & Sons.
