A rare and wonderful example of a roll of members board; this for The Salopian Provident Society.
Above the band with the date of establishment is a charmingly painted tableau of the dying member surrounded by his family, to either side of this reserve are the figures of Time and Fame; the surmount a Dove and book. Painted in oil on canvas and within a 19th century carved and ebonized wood frame.
