Introducing The William Armchair. Inspired by 2 beautiful late 18th century English armchairs discovered in 2024. We have created the exact copy of the chair using traditional methods.


This elegant chair having a beech frame with mortise and tenon joints. Raised on slender hand painted legs that are copied from an 18th C design, terminating in fine quality brass castors. Traditionally upholstered in horsehair with a handmade down and feather cushion. The hessian, webbing and calico all hand tacked and sewn. The gentle slope to the arm along with the deep seat of which is a generous height, makes for a very comfortable chair indeed.


Available with the option of a squab seat cushion if you'd prefer.
