Item Description

A Beautiful Mid Victorian Gothic Revival Occasional or Work Table

Made around c.1850, this fine table employs a variety of timbers including ash, elm and oak for a wide variety of decorative effects. Standing on a quadripartite base with four scrolling legs in the baroque manner. The rectangular table top centres on an inlaid diamond on a background of contrasting timber surrounded by two cross banded sections. The frieze of the table has one deep central drawer with a turned wooden handle. The handle and the decoration employed throughout the frieze is also gothic in inspiration including drops at each corner and applied faceted mouldings.

It also has a lovely colour and patination and is the perfect small occasional table for the modern home, capable of adding character to any interior
