Vernacular and country seating, to include that which has been Estate made, ie not by a trained craftsman, but by a person who has learned to make items due to practical necessity or acquired skill. Typical items are antique Windsor chairs, Inn benches and Settles, rush seated chairs and simply and naively made seating.
Vernacular furniture has a great following for many reasons, not least because people have always appreciatd something that is simply or hand made. This term usually relates to furniture items with tables and chairs being the pieces that most people associate with.
