A large North country (possibly Westmorland) oak press or court cupboard. Initialled and dated ‘ I M W 1662’
This was the year when Charles II married Catherine of Braganza, Samuel Pepys watched a punch and Judy show on London and Two women were hanged as witches in Suffolk.
It’s seen quite a lot in its lifetime.
