Item Description

18th Century English Oak Fireplace. A deeply carved, Georgian style fireplace. The frieze has been decorated with the mask of Bacchus (ancient god of wine and festivity) and Acanthus leaves can be seen alongside him. The surround features a dog leg opening with egg and dart carvings alongside both jambs.

CONDITION REPORT

Good structural condition. The fireplace has a stripped finish with some minor losses and surface wear. There is temporary bracing in place.
