American New England Windsor chair

American New England Windsor chair. This fan back Windsor chair is of the most striking design, constructed in solid cherrywood of fabulous rich colour, the back with a more exaggerated shape than mosts, lovely turned supports and legs. American, circa 1850.

Condition: The chair is very clean with great surface finish and colour, the seat has two old cracks on the front edge, these have been there for some time and do not compromise the strength of the seat.
