Item Description
This elegant piece is constructed from solid oak and boasts a well-proportioned frame with intricate carvings throughout.
The surface comprises a traditional two-plank top, with a carved gallery along the back edge featuring a scrolling foliate motif.
A single drawer is seamlessly integrated into the front freize, adorned with lion mask carved handle. Lion mask carvings at the top of each front leg.
The front legs are striking barley twist columns, a hallmark of late 19th-century British design. These bold, spiraling forms provide a strong decorative contrast to the more restrained rear legs, which are also carved, though more subtly, with vertical gadrooning.
Solid oak throughout, exhibiting a deep, rich patina developed over more than a century.
The piece is both decorative and functional, suitable as a hall table, console table, or writing desk.
The oak has aged beautifully.
