Item Description

An Impressive Carved Seated Male Sculpture in Portland Stone by Andre Wallace from his Boatman Series. 46cm high monogramed and dated to the base.

Andre Wallace is a sculptor/artist based in London working in bronze, stone, translucent resin, and various metals and who also produces works on paper. He born in Somerset in 1947. He studied at the Somerset College of Art (1964-67), Liverpool College of Art (1967-70), Royal Academy Schools (1970-71) and Royal College of Art (1971-73)
He was awarded the Sainsbury Award for Sculpture in 1974. He works in scale from the hand held to the monumental in various materials and has numerous large commissions some of which are listed below.
