Superb Signed Portrait in Oil on Canvas of a Young French Boy holding his Hoop. On the reverse of the canvas is lettering saying ' Pierre Pouzet . 5 ans Perpignan 1897. '
The boy has long fair hair and wears a jacket with a large lace collar and a leather belt- fashionable costume for young boys of well-to-do families in that era.
The painting is signed in the bottom right corner of the canvas 'Mle. (Madamoiselle)Merle. 1897
Measures 28 x 23 inches. In excellernt condition , having been cleaned and had a minimum of restoration.
The painting is unframed.
