Item Description
This bottle holder combines two signature materials of French mid-century design: lacquered metal and woven rattan. The metal structure brings architectural rigour and graphic presence, while the rattan introduces a warmer, almost tropical note, characteristic of French decoration of the 1950s–1960s. The use of rattan and caning in French furniture experienced a true revival from the 1950s onwards, particularly under the influence of Jacques Adnet, whose workshops popularised this combination of noble materials and natural fibres. Woven rattan, supple and luminous, was then integrated into functional pieces such as magazine racks, bottle holders or low stools, giving them a refined decorative character. With compact dimensions (Width: 25 cm | Depth: 9 cm | Height: 20 cm), this bottle holder is as functional as it is decorative, ideal for a bar, a wine cellar, a dining room or a refined kitchen. A typical 1960s mid-century piece whose marriage of materials continues to enchant classical, eclectic and contemporary interiors.
