Item Description

This elegant pair of side tables embodies the refinement of French neoclassical style from the 1940s. Crafted in solid brass by the prestigious Maison Jansen, it stands out for its clean lines and balanced proportions, hallmarks of Parisian haute décoration. Maison Jansen, founded in Paris in 1880, remained for nearly a century the absolute reference in international interior decoration. Under the direction of Stéphane Boudin, the house specialised in the reinterpretation of Directoire and Empire styles, designing highly refined furniture for a prestigious clientele — embassies, high aristocracy, crowned heads. Maison Jansen's brass creations are today particularly sought after for their timeless elegance and quality of execution. The neoclassical ornamental vocabulary — openwork galleries, clean lines, geometric motifs — gives this pair a presence that is both refined and statuesque. The rigour of the proportions and the quality of the finely worked brass make them timeless objects, perfectly suited to both classical and contemporary interiors. With dimensions of 15.94 in wide, 12.6 in deep and 25 in high, these side tables will naturally find their place in an elegant living room or on either side of a sofa. Pieces sourced by Maison Barrois, they will sublimate both classical and contemporary interiors. Good overall condition.
