Item Description
Beautiful late 19th.c. cast iron and enamel hallstand c.1870. Just 26½" wide at the base. Four hooks for hats and coats etc. over a stick or umbrella stand with a removable drip tray in the base. Elaborate neo-Classical design featuring a central trident, architectural elements, a pair of tethered swans and lions heads. Note also the little frog at the front of the drip tray. Original lush green enamel finish to the stand and white enamel tray. With an old repair to the support at the centre of the stick stay (below the lion's head) and some wear to the enamel. Generally very good condition, solid and stable.
