Item Description
Delightful Georgian mahogany gentleman's dressing table or washstand c.1770. Open the top to real a superb fitted interior with sliding and hinged mirror with the original plate within a slim crossbanded frame, surrounded by various small compartments with loose lids in flame mahogany with the original brass handles. Also a small letter rack with shaped dividers and useful space below the mirror. Serpentine fronted table with dummy drawer fronts over a brushing slide and two small drawers below. Note the unusually slim cockbeading to the edges of the drawers and the original brass swan neck handles. Mahogany drawer linings. Raised on square legs with chamfered inner edges and brass barrel castors. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned restored and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied to lock the top and both drawers.
During the restoration of the table we found a signature and the date 1772 hidden under the base of the letter rack.
