Item Description
Fine quality little Edwardian era inlaid satinwood metamorphic side table and writing desk c.1905. Raised back with two small cupboards either side of an open shelf with mirror back panel. Over an inlaid table top which folds open make a writing desk (36" x 20") with a green baize work surface. With three drawers below the desk. Sparkling satinwood veneers with rosewood crossbanding and inlaid ebony and boxwood stringing. Swan neck pediment to the top with three turned finials. Superb Sheraton style marquetry inlays to the pediment, door panels, table top and drawer fronts. Raised on tapering square legs with spade feet, also crossbanded and strung to match, the fronts legs inlaid with lovely harebell garlands below Classical urns. Original brass handles and brass fittings to the folding desk. Marks to the baize (which could be replaced if preferred), otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied for the cupboards and drawers.
