Item Description
Very smart little French Louis XVI style walnut and marble top commode c.1960. Original and highly figured marble top with a moulded edge. Over a chest of three long drawers. Decorative carved guilloche frieze to the slightly slimmer top drawer, good quality brass knobs, handles and escutcheon plates. Flanked with reeded pilasters to the front corners with scrolling acanthus carved detail top and bottom. Further carved decoration below the drawers and a moulded edge. Raised and fielded side panels. Raised on short turned and tapering legs front and rear. With a repaired break running front to back across the marble. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
