Item Description
Very smart marble top sideboard by the Paris maker Guerin c.1920. White marble top with pronounced grey figuring, breakfronted and with rounded ends. Over two drawers and a two door cupboard fitted with a single shelf inside (internal depth 13"). Highly figured burr elm veneers laid in striking symmetrical pattern across the front and sides. With unusual neo-Classical decoration to the front featuring marble column pilasters with gilded mounts top and bottom flanking a marquetry inlaid vase detail to the doors. Original gilded handles, floral mounts and mouldings. maker's label for Guerin Freres inside the right hand drawer. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
