A wonderful Gustavian Empire style barrel back armchair newly re-upholstered in linen with traditional Swedish upholstery tacks. Featuring beautiful sweeping arms adorned with decorative hand carved lion motifs, an acanthus accented seat apron with delicate floret corner carvings, raised on turned legs to the front with foliage & fluted details, and sabre legs to the back. With its elegant lines and exquisite carvings, this beautiful neoclassical style armchair would bring a graceful presence to any room. Swedish circa 1900.
