Item Description
Circa 1900. A very stylish and elegant George I style tortoise shell toilet mirror. The shaped and arched frame with strips of tortoise shell intersected by string inlays of ivory. The frame retains the original bevel edged mirror that follows the form of the frame, supported on two tortoise shell covered uprights surmounted by a pair of cast brass finials in the form of pineapples (later). The bottom of the mirror is braced by a simple stretcher with tortoise shell facing, resting on four squat splayed feet finishing with rondels on each end. The mirror has great colour and style, (registered for Ivory)
