Circa 1860. Attractive Victorian ormolu-mounted burr walnut ladies’ freestanding writing desk. The shaped top with moulded walnut fore-edges, satin wood and boxwood cross banding, and burr walnut with a central green leather writing surface; with a hidden frieze drawer in burr walnut and shaped skirt at the sides and back. All supported on bold cabriole legs with ormolu mounts and sabots. Lovely colour and patina.
