British potter Jim Malone lives and works in Cumbria. He has been making pots for over forty years and has exhibited widely in Britain and abroad. His work is represented in numerous private and public collections including York Museum and Art Gallery and The Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Malone’s glazes consist of granites, clays, wood ashes and silts from the surrounding area in Cumbria and he processes all the materials at his pottery. By creating in this way, the pots are a “true expression of the place in which they are made, indigenous and unique”.
